During a recent Southern California road trip, my colleague Julie and I got stuck in some heavy, and totally expected LA traffic. Rather than sit in it, we hopped off the freeway and explored Venice, California. I've never been to Venice, Italy, let alone Venice, California and this brief detour proved to be so much fun.
In honor of that I thought I'd share a few photos from my walk around the canals.
One of the best parts of walking the canals is taking in the landscaping and architecture. Every house looks different than the last. And some of the yards are true show stoppers.
There are a surprising number of pink flamingos scattered throughout the yards and the docks along the canals. You can never have too many flamingos.
